Each state has its own laws which relate to the Probate process. Oftentimes we are faced with a decedent that has assets in multiple states. If that is the case, an Ancillary Probate is necessary. Because we are licensed in both the states of NJ and NY, this happens often. An Ancillary Probate will need to be done by an attorney licensed from the State where the asset exists. We are able to handle these types of probate without having to have you retain local counsel.
